Jindalee Lithium Ltd (‘Jindalee’ ASX: JLL) has been listed on the ASX since 2002 and has a history for delivering outstanding shareholder value through the advancement of several mineral exploration projects.


Today, Jindalee is focused on the company’s wholly owned McDermitt Lithium Project in Oregon, USA. Located on the doorstep of America’s innovative auto industry, the McDermitt Lithium Project is perfectly placed to deliver battery grade lithium chemicals to supply the electric vehicles of tomorrow.

Jindalee is led by CEO Ian Rodger who is a mining engineer with major project experience and also has an investment banking background. Ian is supported by Executive Director and company founder Lindsay Dudfield, a geologist with several decades of experience in the exploration of various commodities and Non-Executive Chairman Wayne Zekulich who is a chartered accountant and currently serves as the Chairman of ASX-listed gold miner Pantoro Ltd (ASX: PNR). 

On the ground, the Jindalee team are deeply embedded in the local community with in- country activities led by VP of Geology and Development Brett Marsh. As a asset with ambitions to become a generational project, McDermitt stands to bring enduring employment and economic benefits to a region of the USA with a long history of mining. The McDermitt is the right project, in the right location at the right time.

Western nations currently rely heavily on imported battery materials and US policy makers are committed to developing a domestic battery material supply chain.  Underlining this commitment, the US government has put in place a number of funding initiatives designed to assist projects associated with the production of battery materials.

Jindalee is actively engaging with US Government agencies regarding commercial and technical support, including the potential for attractive funding packages. Jindalee has a grant application afoot with the US Department of Defense, with the potential to co-fund a feasibility study and associated workstreams at McDermitt. Jindalee has also recently executed a cooperative research and development agreement with the US Department of Energy, to reduce costs and improve sustainability outcomes at McDermitt.

The McDermitt Lithium Project hosts the largest lithium resource in the USA with a current mineral resource of 21.5Mt of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE). Mineralisation is shallow and metallurgical test work indicates ore can be readily processed into high-value lithium battery grade lithium carbonate for US domestic customers.

In November 2024, Jindalee unveiled the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for the McDermitt Project, showcasing execeptional financial metrics for generational battery-grade lithium chemicals business.  Key highlights include:

: A five-year capital payback and a project life exceeding 60 years. 

: Positioned in the lower half of the global cost curve, ensuring competitive advantage. 

: A long life, large-scale domestic source of battery-grade lithium chemicals critical to U.S. energy independence. 

: Estimated to create 1,000 construction jobs, 600 operational jobs, and contribute ~US$130 million annually in taxes. 

: Significant potential to build upon and further enhance the compelling PFS results.
